Nagaraj Gowda joins Leaders’ Round Table on bridging the innovation gap

Conversations around innovation often focus on funding or infrastructure. The Leaders’ Round Table at the CSIR Innovation Complex, Mumbai, reinforced that the real challenge lies in how well we connect science, translation, and execution.

Our Chairman and MD, Dr. Nagaraj Gowda, participated in the discussion alongside leaders from incubators, academia, finance, and industry, all working toward a common goal: strengthening Mumbai’s innovation ecosystem for start-ups and MSMEs.

A clear theme emerged around the innovation gap. India has high-quality research services and growing entrepreneurial energy, yet many innovative programs stall between early discovery and development-ready proof-of-concept. Limited visibility of shared facilities, fragmented funding information, and a lack of documented translational and regulatory pathways continue to slow progress.

At Abhinavayan Biotech, this gap is central to our work. We focus on translating strong science into credible development programs by integrating scientific depth, translational strategy, and execution discipline. Collaborating with incubators and ecosystem enablers is essential to reducing risk and accelerating impact.

It was encouraging to see alignment on concrete next steps, including sustained dialogue, shared platforms, and greater transparency around success stories and learnings.

Thank you to Dr. Ravikrishna Chebolu and the CSIR team for convening a thoughtful and timely forum.

Grateful to the fellow participants for an engaging and solution-oriented discussion. Looking forward to continuing this dialogue and turning ideas into action. Dr. (Mrs.) N.
